Crime Fiction with an Archaeological Twist – The Lara McClintoch Archaeological Mystery Series!

The other day I was blogging about some of the mystery series published by Berkley Prime Crime, and today I’d like to introduce the readers of this blog to an author I started reading last year – whose novels are best described as a mixture of suspense, crime fiction, archaeology, ancient civilizations and historical enigmas.

For those of you who have read any of the books in “The Lara McClintoch Archaeological Mystery Series you’ll probably be nodding your heads in agreement by now.

The Archaeological Mystery Series features the female sleuth Lara McClintoch and is written by Lyn Hamilton.

So far 11 books have been published; the latest book, The Chinese Alchemist, published April 2007.

One doesn’t have to read the books in any particular order, but if anyone is interested in reading them in chronological order, here’s a link to the first book in the series, called The Xibalba Murders.

Another book in the series, The Celtic Riddle, inspired the TV Movie Murder, She Wrote: The Celtic Riddle” starring Angela Lansbury.

Here’s a link to the author’s official website with further information on this series:
