Kringsatt av Fiender - One of My Favorite Norwegian Folksongs!
As a native of Scandinavia I’ve always enjoyed listening to the different folksongs from this area and enjoyed singing them, as well.
One of my favorite Norwegian folksongs has always been the hauntingly beautiful “Kringsatt av Fiender” written by the Norwegian poet Johan Nordahl Brun Grieg, a distant relative of the composer Edvard Grieg, and later set to music by the Danish composer Otto Mortensen.
As this has always been a special melody here in Scandinavia, I made a quick test recording of the first verse of this song earlier today for a very special day, namely February 29, and even though I’ve never studied music myself, I still hope you’ll enjoy listening to the first verse of Kringsatt av Fiender recorded with my new microphone.
Happy Listening & Happy Leap Day/Leap Year!
